This Act is the outcome of different political and economic disputes in Mexico, such as the control of the radio and television industries, as well as the the control of political communication and journalism. Therefore, the first research question that answers this essay is related to understand what communication system was built through the creation of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Act. On the other hand, since its inception, the media watchdog QITESO is interested in investigating communication systems from a local perspective.
